They can catch it in many ways, and airborne is one of them. Watch for a fever, signs of heavy mucus, etc. Don't let it progress if you see these signs, stop what you are doing and go to the vet:-) It can turn bad very quickly.

Had gotten this, from the vet when the breeder took her. People do not realize that they should not be taking puppies to the vet at all, until they are 10-12 weeks of age. As the vet has tons of dogs going in and out with this. Sorry, but it hit a nerve when I realized she had a cold and it's still not gone. She still has it somewhat, more of the reverse sneezing/weezing than the cough. But it can take anywhere from 4-10 weeks to go away supposedly. It's a shame, but keep them warm and take good care, so it doesn't get worse.

Our vet told us that it is a virus that would last about 3-7 days. He also said that if the cough gets bad, we could give them (people's) Robitussin. I don't remember the dosage. If Lana runs a temp or has any discharge...a trip to the vet is in order for an antibiotic.

when we were at the park, there were NO sick dogs there but there had been a dog there who had it...Punkie, Chloe and Maggie got it and all three had taken the medicine for it just a couple of months previous to the dog park trip. We do NOT visit dog parks any longer.
