So my dogs have had the runs for 3+ days so I took a stool sample into the vet. Kane has Campylobacter, which needs to be treated with heavy duty anti-biotics. Winston has clostridium. I wasn't anble to get a sample from Daisy so they are treating her for Clostridium as well. I have never dealt with this before so any advice on how they might have got this is appreciated! I'm worried that they got it from their food. A couple days prior I bought a new bag of food TOTW. They have been on this food for sometime, but I wonder if it's a contaminated bag? Now I'm afraid to put htem back on the same food, even if I buy a new bag. However, Kane has allergies so I have to be careful if I decide to switch??

I doubt that they could get campylobacter from dried kibble. This comes from raw, uncooked foods.
You have to very careful with this, however, since you can get it. After I had had Bully for only a few weeks, I felt one night like I was getting the flu, and so I went to bed early. The next morning, i was so sick that I had to get a friend to come and stay with me and take care of the dog. This went on for about five days--fever, chills, dry heaves, body aches, etc. Finally, I felt better and went out to dinner with the friend. The next day, I even went down to visit him.
The morning after that, I had horrible and constant bloody diarrhea. I had to drop Bully off with the friend and go to the emergency room. They kept me in the hospital for five days; and from the start, kept asking about the dog--had I kissed him, etc. The day after they released me the doctor called and said that one of my cultures came back positive for campylobacter. I took Bully to the vet, had him tested, and sure enough he had it. I have never been that sick in my life. It took about three months before I finally felt normal again.
I assume he came with it from the breeder, along with coccidia and giardia. (She was really a broker posing as a breeder.) Back in the beginning, he had very soft stools and went to the bathroom about 12 times a day. Somehow I caught it--either cleaning up after him or kissing him.
