bulldog swim?

Hi my bulldogs name is Buffy she's almost 2 years old. Since my bulldog swim with us in the ground pool those black spots came out? I just wondering if this cause by chlorine. Is that o.k if she did drinks some water from the pool? we tried to stop her.I don't really thinks it will hurt her in other way? She's fine except that black spot over her brown color a size of a hand. Is any one has bulldog swims? I saw in the i tube theres a dog swim preety good. Thanks Belen

no medications

Buffy don't take medications except her vitamins for her hips and bones. She's perfectly fine. Hopefully the black spots will go away. thanks for all your opinion.

Good idea here for you, Belen...

that you rinse Buffy off after she comes out of the pool, to get most of the chlorine off her...you can use the hose if the water is gentle enough...rub her fur when you do the rinsing so you get down to the skin.

A couple of the more common reasons for dark spots are: 1-bacterial infection, 2-SFA = seasonal flank alopecia, which usually comes over the winter months and results from lack of exposure to sunshine...it improves naturally in the warm months/summertime, 3-hypothyroidism, but with a young female dog that seems likely unless you are seeing other changes in her behavior, 4-from prolonged use of steroids such as use of prednisone over several months time...you didn't say if she's on any regular medication...is she?

i don't know from

experience, but i would think the chlorine might be too harsh on their sensitive skin. maybe if you bathed him right after swimming in the pool, it might be ok?? i'm not a vet though- just a thought.
