black skin

cooper has demodex, but i think it's under control now. i caught it within a few days & it was only on his cheek. my question is: is it normal for the skin to turn black where the vet scraped him? it is on his cheek & it wasn't black before, it was pink. the hair is starting to grow back a little, but the skin is black (the hair is fawn/red). will this affect him in any other way? or will it look like it used to after it all grows back? thanks for any info!

funny you asked

My frenchie has these 2 black spots after I find out what looks like extra skin trying to grow and only saw this when I shaved that area and he was scratching like crazy too. What I found to work is the Malaseb shampoo. I use it once a week and the area is getting lighter and no extra skin growing. I think it was either a fungal or bacteria infection. So shave the area before bath time, put a dollop or two on the area and rub it in, leave it for at least 10 minutes while you shampoo the rest of his body and then rinse off. If the hair starts to grow back in a week, shave it and see, I had to shave 3-4 times and repeat this before it's gone.
