Biting 5 month old

Anyone have any ideas on how to get our 5 month old to stop biting all the time.? Fingers, arms, toes it doesn't matter. He is so great otherwise but the biting is driving me crazy.. sad.gif He has lost his puppy teeth and has gotten in his new teeth. Any help would be great..

Thanks again

Dev

"EXERCISE" A tired dog is a good (not biting) dog!

He's bored and the nips and bites get your attention.

Sign him up for Puppy School! (I call any form of training or exercise, 'Puppy School.') He would probably love rally, flyball, or agility classes.

You can make your own agility equipment for your backyard. Online you can find plans and instructions on how to make agility equipment out of PVC pipe.

Setting up a few little one foot jumps and some weave poles is simple to do. It doesn't take long to tire out a bulldog and a tired bulldog isn't interested in biting you.

Bottom line, you need to redirect his attention to something positive. As you have probably realized, telling him "NO" isn't working.

Two other things you can do that are pretty easy-

Buy a treat dispensing ball and hold out part of his kibble to put in it. He will love running around working for his food.

Play "Find It!" Easy tiring game that dogs love.

this is what i do

whenever he bites on something he's not supposed to, say no & give him something he is supposed to bite on-like a toy or bone. it does take a while. my boy is 6 1/2 months & he still likes to try to bite alot, but he's getting better. just be consistent & don't let him bite on anything he's not supposed to. good luck!
