BIG bump on bellas hip area???
Submitted by Anonymous on April 21, 2010 - 12:04amWe left our english bulldog bella for a couple days and when we came back to her she seemed to have a little trouble jumping up on stuff like she normally does , Almost like she has some pain somewhere. Well today we noticed a large bump on her hip area that almost feels like a cramped muscle. It is about a 2 inch circle in size and when you get near it she does not like it.
I hate leaving her under anyone elses watch, they just dont seem to understand bullys need a little more care than the average pooch.
Anyone have any ideas? Maybe a BIG bug bite? Cramped muscle?
To this day, she s almost 2 now, I have yet to hear her cry about anything. Her tolerance for pain is incredible! ( Ive stepped on her foot completely only to have her just stare at me with out making a peep) This is kinda bad because if she is in pain we NEVER know it. But if we touch this area on her hip, she doesnt cry, but makes it known that she doesnt want it touched.
Any help or info or related experiences is greatly appreciated.

try hot packing....
without seeing it, it could be a bunched muscle....their are very large thigh muscle in that area...gently lay a warm cloth and try reducing it....i have also used rub on heat products but this was with my rotties who were doing alot of jumping....

My boy had a big lump on his hip area once. It was about the size of a lime. It turned out to be from running into something at full spped while playing. The vet said it would possibly get bigger and stick around for a month, the vet was right, it did both.
I hope that is all that Bella has too. I would go to the vet to make certain.

then I would definitely get her to the vets. No telling what it could be.

This is very possible. We have a a black lab also and when they play and run around she will always cutoff bella or body check her right in to the doorway or a cabinet.
