Best dog food
Submitted by admin on April 20, 2010 - 7:57pmI need some opinions on what to feed my (4)bulldogs. They are all less than (1) year old and currently eat 50/50 bled of Eukanuba and puppy chow. I am considering switching to either Nutro or Royal Canine. Which dog food is the best of these two?

I have 6 bullies from 8 months to 4 years and people stop me all the time and tell me how beautiful their coats are. We have no tear stains, no wet dog smell and very little shedding. Before Royal Canin we tried Science diet, nutro and Eukenuba lamb and rice. in each of the other foods I had one that was allergic to something but with the royal canin they don't have any problems. I have heard Candiea is also excellent.

has really worked for me. as far as tears, smell and coat condition.
I give 1 of ours Nutro Lite
& the other 2 get pro plan for sensitive skin & tummy. I have good results with both.

I would not suggest either as I do not like any of the ing. in them. Especially the Royal Canin. It is hard to shop for dog food. It's like going to the grocery store. Just about everything you get there is over processed!

I started feeding Canidae to my 3 yr old female, and 18 month male- and tear stains disappeared!

All the suggestions are good. I would take them off puppy chow. purina is low quality food. I feed mine wellness and he is doing great. the whole dog journal has a perferred food list, puppy chow is not on it. but all the other foods mentioned are.

I have a 1 year old bullie & I feed her Pinnacle duck & potato. It's been working out great for her. She has had skin issues & is sensitive. She can't have anything with Corn or wheat. When I got my bullie she was given Eukanuba & once I switched her she was much better with the itchy skin & skin problems! I guess it all depends on your bullies!
You do want to get them off
of the puppy chow. Most breeders put the puppies on adult food around 5 months.
I feed Canidae and love it. Mine range in age from 10 yrs to 7 months and the life stages is perfect for us.

4 bulldogs, all less than a year old.. WOW!
really, what works for one may not work for the other.
why are you wanting to change? is there something wrong with your current food?
i think canidae, natural balance, solid gold, or wellness is a good food. there a many many nice foods on the market.
