Bad Belly.... Question for those who feed RAW
Submitted by Nina Owen and Ike on April 21, 2010 - 12:12am...what do you do when your bullie has an a bad belly?
Chunk is having some tummy issues... threw up his dinner last night - seemed to be an upset tummy... Took some water throughout the night... Wasn't at all interested in eating this morning. Is there a RAW version of a bland diet? Or do you just let them fast until they're feeling better?
(if it matters he eats Nature's Variety Venison)

This is the first I've had a problem too since starting to feed raw (2 years or so)...

He's allergic to rice and potatoes so I can't do the standard bland diet...
Someone else suggested yogurt and/or pumpkin - which I might try if he doesn't seem to feel any better after fasting for a bit.

since feeding raw.....
i have not had a bad tummy.....since thier are no grains to digest he does really well....i will give a pepcid at night now and then...i also have them drink a cup of mint tea....if your pup is having prolem then i would go with some brown rice and boiled hamburger for 48 hrs....fasting is not always a good idea especially if the tummy is producing acid and this is what the dog is having problems with....
