I've been doing some online research on puppy acne and a Great Dane website mentions putting a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in the drinking water because it is an astringent. Has anyone ever used this remedy?

I am interested in the replies as well. According to what I read it changes the PH balance of their skin? And it's good for tummy upset. Gage has had a small amount of chin acne popping up and I don't want it to get too out of hand. After reading through the topics here I put Stridex pads on my shopping list along with Desitin for his folds. Right now we are dealing with an infected left eye which is causing goopies in his folds. Unfortunately, the eye ended up cherrying out. I watched the YouTube video about how to massage it back in and it worked temporarily for him. I am just going to leave it alone until the infection clears then try to massage it back in again.
I give all my dogs ACV in their food every morning. It is good for a lot of things. It most certainly can't hurt them so it is worth a try to put in their drinking water. It is loaded with antioxidants and you know how good that is for them. (-: Here is a link for ACV.....
Sounds like you are going through the wringer. Two weeks after we brought Tuffy home he popped a cherry eye and then the other one went. We tried massaging it in via the youtube video but they kept coming out. After extensive research we went with the snipping surgery. I hope that Gage's stays in so you don't have to go through a procedure!
Interesting that the ACV is supposed to help with Tummy upset. That is great to know since my Tuffster has a very delicate tummy!
Hang in there...it seems like every week there is a new medical issue to deal with with these dogs but can't live without 'em!!

but we're learning as we go. We figured out today it is definetely time to switch vets. Luckily I found one that specializes in bulldogs not too far from us. Gage has one testicle that is not decending and we were told we had to have him neutered ASAP along with having his eye fixed. I was a little nervous when they couldn't tell me how they were going to tuck it and needed to call a specialist at another vet clinic. I thought we should wait a few weeks to see if the other eye pops but they were pretty insistant.
I am going to give the vinegar a shot as well. Gage has a lot of tummy upset so hope it helps.
Right now with is eye, his allergies and his acne he looks like a hot mess...my poor little muffin butt =(
and p.s...Tuffy is too cute! I love his little fangs! Gage just got his bottom teeth in and I think it's adorable when he flashes them at me! But then again us bulldog people are a little wierd LOL
I also read about this...

I use it,
I also heard it can help with flea problems, so I use it. My guys don't have chin acne, so I guess it works. I just use a capful.
I'm going to give it a shot!!
Glad to hear it works for your bully boys.
its great.....
add about a teaspoon to water....helps the ph balance...some feel it reduces stones from forming....and helps with uti...
i have used for both my bulldogs and rotties...
