I'm looking on getting a ramp - just hate the little girl going up and down the 3-4 stairs of my back door.
She has clicking in her back hips and doing anything I can to try to keep her from having an issue down the line.
I was curious has anyone purchased a ramp, and if so do they have a specific one they recommend.
I'm thinking this one looks like a winner:

Thanks
I would like to have a light weight portable ramp to use for...
loading my girls into the car. I have a four wheel drive SUV and it's pretty high off the ground. I usually load/unload the bullies myself but it's not easy since they are both over 60 lbs! I don't want them to get hurt jumping in and out of the car. My Boxer can leap like a deer and has no problem sailing right up into the car.

yes, thanks
That is pretty cool, especially how you tied it into your doggy dog.

I'm looking for one that I can almost lay over my top stairs or at least part of them since I don't have a doggy door - not that you couldn't make one similar.
Also, if it were portal it wouldn't be a bad thing so I can take it to my parents etc. and use it there when she's on vacation hanging out with them
I actually purchased the dog ramp as seen on dogramp.com. I bought it through their ebay store which has the same price but free shipping - glad I looked on ebay, saved me 20 bucks.
I'll post some pics and what I think once I get receive it and get Bella to start to using it.. I just am hoping to do some easy things now in hopes her clicking doesn't turn into something worse as she gets older.

Here are a couple of pix of our no-frills, ez to build dog ramp.
Here are a couple of photos of our dog ramp...I took them from my kitchen window so they are through the window screen but I think you can get the general idea of how simple it is. If anyone wants a better pic, just let me know and I will go out in the backyard and take some additional photos.

Here is one of Maggie Mae, our Boxer coming back inside...
Here is a pic of our crew who use this ramp daily...

great suggestion, Elaine...that's what my hubby did for our girl
we have an oversized doggie door in our laundry room...hubby built a "dog ramp" from the doggie door out to the backyard...using two 2x6s for the ramp part and then screwed 2x4s on the sides to keep the girls from going off the edges as they run up it. we also covered it with indoor/outdoor carpeting to prevent them from burning their feet or slipping on it when it gets wet. it's nothing fancy but it serves the purpose! punkie loves to go out the doggie door and just sit right outside on the ramp and soak up the rays...

I think I would just try to build something myself..
how hard could it be to put plywood with a 2x4 edge? I'm not handy, but I think I would go to Home Depot and look at the possibilities. Even inexpensive pine boards could be lined up and nailed together.

Put a shout out to Pam. She's a master carpenter. I'll bet she would have a simple solution.
