Ahh Day One of keeping Lola calm
Submitted by Dgordon80 on April 21, 2010 - 12:01amWow I am really in for it! Got the dog some steps and penned off the bed so the only way up or down was 3 steps.. So she decided she would leap up and over all of them.. good thing I caught her.. I think these Petco steps are not going to be the answer she is not willing to walk down them. she rather leap over them.. I think they are a little too thin for her so looks like a have a project this weekend, build wide bully steps.. I dropped the bed off the box springs and now she can pretty much plop off and on the bed with no effort.. For me on the other hand is a little bit of a struggle(getting old)..
Carring her down the steps can be pretty entertaining to my fellow neighbors.. One of them offered to build a throne for me.. Ahh this will be a fun 8 weeks but none of it is too much for me to handle.. I love this pup and know that it will be worth it in the end..

Ramp would be a good thing.. I just lowered the bed again off the box springs so I am about a foot off the ground so she can pretty much step off.. I only allow access to the bed when I am not home cause she just lays on the bed and doesnt move.. I may buid a ramp for the couch but lola is not happy with new objects.. it took her forever to get use to the new dresser I bought!
