is there a certain age a dog should be before it is tested for allergies? i know my percy didn't really show any signs until he was about 2 years old, but i assume they're all different. cooper is 16 months & in the last couple of weeks, he's gotten 2 idc's & his face & eyes are getting goopy. i know getting percy tested was the best thing i ever did & i wished i had done it earlier, but if i do it too early, is it a waste? do they develop allergies as they age or are they born with them? i'm sure there's not a magic age to test, but is there an age that is recommended to wait until? thanks for any info =)
age testing
I've always been told 2. that is when they the vets say a dog will devolope them. I think they can way before then..but I am just a dog owner..not a vet..
thanks-that was the age i was thinking
but didn't know if i remembered right.
Im not sure about age, but my vet said to test in August
She said testing in August allows you to catch the greatest range of seasonal allergens

thanks- i'll see if i can
test him this august, or if my vet thinks i should wait until he's older. he'll be 20 months then. i just want to know rather than play the guessing game & trial & error with the food. thanks again! btw, i love cash! he's sooo wrinkly & cute!
