my friend has a 6 month old beagle pup who 'loves' his stuffy toys. about a month ago, his penis got stuck out for over 30 minutes, they called the vet, took him right in and the vets advice was to have him fixed asap. so, they did. it's now been 3 weeks since his surgery, they have taken away all of his 'lovey toys' and he is still having this 'problem'. they are, however, able to assist it to return to its 'home', but she was wondering how long this will last, and is there any thing else she can do to prevent it?
thanks for advice!

Hey..
It is his "thingy" stuck out right? We have a Min-Pin that is 12 years old and had the same to happen to him. His thing was out and would not go back in the skin for 2 days, our vet told us to try this before surgery had to be done-
put sugar on the red part, it absorbs the moisture, then get a wash cloth and put it in the freezer damp, after 10 mins have someone hold the doggie then use the cloth and hold against the area for a min- or 2. Use the cloth to pull the outside skin on each side up and over the red thingy. It is very uncomfy and I have never done that before until that happened here but it is better than the vet having to perform surgery. Hope that helps... Tanya
