Saturday morning Daisy woke us up with this terrible gagging noise. Upon further review she has vomitted phelm nothing super serious. Sunday same gagging no vomit, so one Monday I pulled her out of her kennel around 4:30 and put her in bed with no problems. This morning however she started making the sounds. I put her in bed and she choked on the phlem and vomitted it up. I have been reading other posts but it only happens at night. Is there a larger problem? Daisy is 6 months old and seems healthy but this worries me with it only happening while sleeping. It's almost as though a large fluid build up takes place and there is no where for it to go. Is anyone else had this issue and what is my next step?
Re: 6am vomits and reverse hiccup?
if she is vomiting bile, it is more then likely hunger, try a few cookies before bed.. or a late dinner.
another thought.. is your house dry? we run a humidifire for the dogs (ok.. for us too) for the winter (until we stop using the furnace.. which is also the same day we turn on the central air.. gotta love s-w Ontario)
good luck.
bulldogs ehh!

A couple of things...
You can first try giving her a couple of biscuits just before you go to bed. She stomach could be getting upset because it's empty.
If that doesn't work then you can try giving her a Pepcid AC before bed. It should settle her stomach and stop the vomiting.
Good luck,
Sue

Head Tilted Up?
We've found with Tank that he breaths much better and doesn't get the same phlegmy build up overnight if his head is slightly elevated as he sleeps. We bought the Perla bed and he loves it. He wakes up much less gurgly than before. Hope it helps!
