My english bulldog just had a litter of 6 3 weeks ago ive kept her on a well balnced diet but three days ago my father fed her and my studd menudo (a soup with pig stomach and a lot of spices and herbs) I was not aware of this so i went on allowing her to feed the puppies that same night i realized that the puppies poop was soft and not at the consistency that it was before then the next morning i saw two of my puppies throwing up their milk. I am very concerned i took them off the mothers milk for a night and they seemed to get better no more throwing up and their poop solidfied more ...but i brought them back onto their mothers milk and still have diarea...is there aything else i can do to help them out?
is this something that could eventually kill them?
pupies

i feel better now that i know exactly what to do

Start out with a mush-mixture.
Many start out with diluted (boiled water, cooled)canned goats milk, or you can use puppy milk replacement formula but goats milk is easier to get, and probably cheaper too. Mix in some Gerbers Baby Rice Cereal and some ground puppy kibble. Start out with it like oatmeal consistency. Put it in a pyrex pie plate so the puppies can reach the food but the weight of the glass will keep it from slipping away. I'd suggest you try 3 at a time, and you need to push the mush up to their mouths to get them to take it, maybe putting some on your fingertips to get it into their mouth to start with. Expect that they will make a mess, and still need to nurse afterward but if you let momma dog feed them first, they will be too content and not want to bother with the mush...offer it to them 4 times a day. By the end of one week they should be eating it.
As for 'how much' it depends on how much actually gets eaten and how much gets stepped on...Ha...but I would fix about two cups food for 6 puppies, and adjust from there. Also if you put the glass dish on a large towel, it will help the pups get some balance for their feet when they reach over the edge of the dish. Newspaper is too slippery for them to stand on, IMO.

Remind your dad that anything mom eats the puppies are going to be eating as well. At three weeks they are old enough that you can start to wean them which you might want to do. You want to make sure they don't get dehydrated and that they have water available. Once the menudo is out of both their mom's system and their's they should be fine. Good luck!
