A word or two about the new format..

No one likes change and it pretty obvious that's the case here ! LOL

I have fooled around with different formats of bulletin board systems for over 15 years and they're all different and ever evolving.  I prefer vBulletin forums well above all others, but I can adapt to anything.

This format isn't one of my top picks, but I can live with it. On the surface, it seems highly customizable on the admin end so I would suggest that we give Admins time to work out the bugs and get the board tweaked. Tweaking a new format can take weeks, that's why they left the old board up until this one is ready to roll out.

Don't just complain how much you dislike this format, make a suggestion to improve it. If you're just complaining, you're part of the problem.

One thing we must all keep in mind, this is a free site and with free sites come some pitfalls, such is life.

If you do anything long enough, it becomes habit. I guarantee you that in a few weeks you'll be using this board like it's an old friend and you'll be familiar with all the bells and whistles.

Have a great Sunday you crazy bulldoggers !!

I thought I agreed...

But it is going to take a LOT of getting used to.   I gave it a few days, but I much prefer the old forum at this point.

All due respect, Dave... you

All due respect, Dave... you were one of the people who for a long time complained about the old format. :)  It's great that your voice was heard and changes were made and you like them (even though they're not exactly what you wanted.)  So, I think everyone who is unhappy with THIS format should be allowed to complain just as much as you did.  After all, it was a free site for us BEFORE as well.  That we were guests of. Just like it is now.

As a disclaimer, I've been a very long user of vBulletin as well. And I'm a techy nerd. I just don't want to see people suddenly be berated for not liking change by people who groused about WANTING change, prior to the change. :)

I agree Dave

it doesn't take a whole lot of time or effort to get the hang of it, it is not an overly complicated process.

Some really do not like things to vary at all from what THEY want and what THEY are used to. That was proven recently when they succesfully eliminated someone who made the board different than what they wanted it to be.
