Zapper passed away this morning.
Submitted by Dave and Zapper on July 8, 2014 - 6:41amHe was laying at my feet in the office and I noticed he was breathing heavy. I got down in the floor with him and was rubbing on him and he rolled over and took his last breath.
I have already said my goodbyes and burried him in his blankie with his favorite woobie.
My heart is so broke.

One of my favorite pictures on this site is of Zapper sleeping with his woobie. I am so sorry for your loss, I can't even describe how heartbreaking this is. At the very least, he got to spend it peacefully with his daddy.

I am so sorry for your loss and I just gasped when I read your post. May you find comfort in sharing your feelings (as heartbreaking as that is) with people here that totally understand and are heartbroken for you! I felt that loss last summer, and it still tugs at my heart, as I am sure it always will. You showered Zapper with a great life, and he returned all the love you had to give. Zapper will be with you always!

Thank you everyone. Not everyone understands but ya'll do
there is nothing in this world like a bully. I knew this day would come but there's no way to prepare for it.
We were sitting here at my desk. Zapper ate breakfast and then crawled under the desk and got beside me like always. He sounded like he was snoring really loud but I knew something wasn't right. I watched him for a few minutes and he seemed to start struggling for air. I got down in the floor with him and rubbed on him and talked to him. I knew he was passing and I wanted to be there for him like he always has been for me. His breathing slowed and he slowly let go and laid his head down. I wrapped him in his blankie and his favorite woobie and buried him under a big oak tree behind my house.

Your post took me back a few months ago. On Dec 31st, 2013 my Bully Lola passed away much like Zapper. Lola had been with me for 9 years. She had been with me through some rough times, loosing both parents and the passing of my wife. She was always there and many times turned my tears to smiles. Only people on this board understand and may have experienced what you are going through. These wonderful bullies gives us sove much love that when they pass they take a part of us with them. There will never be another Lola, but I have a rescue girl Eleanor, that now owns my heart. There is nothing like Bully love. Dave you and Zapper have become friends to so many. I wish i had some way of taking the pain away, words that I could say to help. Unfortunately IMO they don't exist. All of us on this board will give you all the support you need, just let us know

I suppose there is some small comfort in the fact that you were there with him. I know how badly your heart is hurthing.
RIP, beautiful boy. You've brought a lot of smiles to a lot of people over the years - today, we will shed a tear. The happy memories will come back though, and your daddy will smile again.

Dave, I've been there...

Zap was one of my favorites to check in on he how he was doing.
I lost Doyle almost two years now and even though I rescued another dog ( not a bulldog ) I still wish I had my boy with me. He is always on my mind.
It will get better, but you will never forget your lovable boy. I loved the pics of him on the desk.
