It's the most important holiday on the Jewish Calendar, one of several called the High Holy Days. Last week was the Jewish New Year (based on a lunar calendar) and tonight until tommow at sunset is the Day of Atonement, where we fast from all food and water, confess our sins as a community (which means that as individuals we may ask for forgivness for something that we didn't do personally but a Jew somewhere may have done, ) and pray in the synagogue. I wont be posting until it's over. Maybull is 13 years old and, technically responsible for her own sins (under that age, parents are responsible) but since she's a dog, she's perfect. Although she has been piddling in the house a lot.
See you all in a couple of days.
wishing you blessings at this special time..............
and thanks for the information. It always helps to understand the meaning of these most holy times!
