I had posted several times lately about allergy and aggression issues with my senior bulldog Annie. My baby started having seizures Tuesday night. They were quite severe. She had over 7 seizures in 24 hours. She lost control over all of her bodily functions within 24 hours, She was also vomiting and wandering aimlessly around the house barely able to breathe turning blue. We tried medication but it did not work. This was the reason for her aggression as they think she had a brain tumor. Her allergies were better the last two weeks and she was doing so well. The seizures caught me off guard. Monday night we even played ball and she had the best time. She was my child, I loved her so much. I am lost without her. I had been discussing not getting another bulldog because of health issues with the breed but they are just so wonderful I know I will probably get another one to love.
I am so sorry.
Bulldogs are special and we are lucky to have each one who spends their short time with us. Annie was lucky to have a home with someone to love her and give her such care. I will be thinking of you today.
So sorry....
to read this it seems there is just never enough time with them for us.

it hurts to much to see them suffer and leave us. RIP Annie.
My heart goes out to you!
I am so sorry for your loss........my thoughts are with you!
This is so hard
Living without Annie is so difficult. Our house is empty. So much of my life revolved around her. I could not see her suffer through the seizures anymore. They were awful. I will have to change her tribute video to a memorial video now so at least I'll have her videos and pictures to look at. When my first bulldog died it was so hard, but I think it is even harder with Annie's passing. I am a media specialist at a school and just got out for the summer. I was looking forward to us spending the summer together and our beach trips. We even bought her a golf cart as she loved to ride. I may go ahead and find another baby bulldog as this would be the best time to raise one where I will be at home for a while. Some people tell me though that I am not honoring Annie if I get one so soon. For me being busy helps me. I am sure a puppy would keep me quite busy. Thanks for the comforting comments. Annie was one in a million, my best friend.
Sorry to hear about Annie.
Sorry to hear about Annie. Sounds like she lived a life full of love--what a lucky girl. I don't think anyone can tell you what is right or wrong when grieving. Everyone grieves differently. Hugs to you.
do what your heart says.............
You would most definately honor Annie by getting another bulldog.....if that is what your heart wants.
New puppy
So sorry for your loss. Buying a new puppy is in no way dishonoring Annie's memory. You will find the new puppy is not a replacement for Annie because there never will be another Annie. The new puppy will have its own personality. You will love it for itself and you will always remember and love Annie. However do not be in so much of a rush to get a new puppy that you fail to do your Bulldog research thoroughly. Be sure to check out the breeder--ask for references if possible and contact some past puppy buyers. Try to get a puppy from parents that have had health checks--especially heart and ortho. You want to buy from a breeder that cares so much for the breeder that their goal is to better the breed. You do not want to buy from a backyard breeder intent on making a few $$ or because cousin has a Bulldog and they love their girl so much they want a puppy from her. This won't 100% guarantee that the new puppy won't have health issues but it might increase your chances of getting a healthy puppy.

I think getting a new puppy is...
a way of honoring Annie. If you didn't love her so much, you wouldn't be getting another bully. I know when we lost our first boy Truman at a very young age, I couldn't have survived it if I hadnt had Oscar to help me through it.
my heart breaks for you
I hear Emma snoring peacefully next to me and I can't imagine my life without her in it. My hearts breaks for you. Your decision was a very brave one and Annie was soooo very lucky to have you in her life.
Thank You
My husband doesn't use this website but sometimes I show him bully pics while I am looking. When he saw the remembering Annie with the rainbow bridge it made him cry. It has been just as hard on him. It really touched our hearts to see Annie remembered. Thanks so much for the comforting words.
Oh, I'm so sorry

Very sorry to hear of your loss of Annie...
These bullies definitely tug at your heart. Just remember when you get a new bully baby, you are not replacing Annie or the memories you have of her. You will be creating new memories to add.
So Sorry
For your loss.... The day our bully died last summer, I went online that night and found a bulldog breeder (pretty much right around the corner from us - never even knew she was there).... I feel that a house turns into a home when you have a bulldog in it.... I now have 2 pups at home (10 months and 5 months).... I just wish I could figure out how to upload their pics so you can see my little Fred and Ethel!
Hugs and prayers go out to you.....
