Bulldogs World

We adopted a 4 year old bulldog about 4 weeks ago. Almost every night she pees in her crate. I think it is more of a "marking" then actual pee. She has never had an accident in the house. She stays in her crate while we are at work and she never once goes in it. This is only happening in the middle of the night. The crate isn't to big for her. She goes to the bathroom outside before bed.

Here is our routine:

We bring the crate into our bedroom, I put a blanket in it and then on top of the blanket, I put her towel that she was on earlier that day.

We plug in a nite light for her.

Close the door and she goes right to sleep. Around 3AM she wakes up- turns in her crate and pees. Rubs her face in it and then lays on it.

I wash everything the next morning and then repeat.

The reason for the blanket under is that she makes so much noise during the night, and the blanket helps cancel out the noise. If she peed in her crate during the day, then I would think she just can't have a blanket in there with her but she doesn't.
