Our bully Flossie has wobbled and fallen onto her side, like light headed!

Hi all, Flossie is our first Bully, and at 17 months old is very much my baby. But I worry because two months ago she just fell over onto her side and lay on the grass for a few minutes,  her breathing was quick as prior to falling she was playing quite happily with another pup, then yesterday she did it again! Very upsetting as I thought I'd lost her! I have since read about lemon juice being a remedy for this issue that bullies are prone to.  Can anyone else shed some light on this as I would really be grateful.

I would definitely have a vet look at her.

You need to have her checked for elongated palate. If you arent sure if your vet is Bulldog experienced, you can look on the home page of the website, there is a listing of Bulldog Vets by state. You may find someone you can see that is close to you. I think you should do it sooner than later, honetlsy.

Dave has a good point, too. If you are letting your pup be really active outdoors during the summer heat, it will give them heatstroke very quickly. With that cute little smooshed nose, they can't cool themselves down as fast as other dgs and they overheat easily. I would really limit paly time outdoors, anything over 75 or 80 degrees is getting pretty hot for a low to the ground bully. And remember, they ARE low to the ground, they get even more heat than you think!

Good luck, please keep us updated!

Was she playing hard before that happened?

heaving to throw up?  I would have a vet look at her, could be just about anything. Let us know what you find out.  It could be a palate problem. They can't really tell tho unless they sedate her to take a look.

No she wasn't sick. She only

No she wasn't sick. She only knows how to play one way and that's pretty full on!  I think a vet trip is needed. :-(

Yep, a vet with experience in treating bullies is in order.

Keep in mind, you really need to find a vet that is familiar and experienced with bulldogs and most vets are not.
