Need suggestions for low cal snacks to fill Bosco up...

Greetings BDW - I hope everyone is loving the start of fall! So, Bosco is about six and a half weeks post-surgery (CCL/MPL) and he is doing great. He is still not allowed to do stairs but he is going to the doctor in two weeks and hopefully he will get permission to do them again.

We put Bosco on a diet for his surgery and he lost weight, we dieted him down from about 60 to 52 at last weigh in. This is great for his health and his knees but really bad for his temperament. He is hangry all the time. He is so hungry that he walks around licking the floor for crumbs, licking the carpet for whatever he can find. He is barking at the cupboard, barking non-stop until he gets extra treats, and getting very bold with trying to eat my dinner, when I am eating it. Unacceptable.

My husband and I are feeding him smaller portions but in no way is he not eating enough. He gets 2/3 cups dry food in the morning and 2/3 cups in the evening and each serving comes with a blop of wet food in it to make it more tasty. He also gets treats. I think he just needs more bulk in his system. Does anyone have an idea about what I can feed Bosco to fill him up and not put weight on him? I'm hoping that he will be better behaved if he is less hangry. Thanks a bunch!

Green beans with no salt.

Pumpkin every once in awhile for the fiber to fill him up.  Baby carrots, but not all of the time, non-fat cottage cheese, broccolli, apples.

veggies and fruit

Ours LOVE raw and cooked veggies. Pieces of zukes, watermelon chunks, any veggie he likes will work. If he doesn't like raw veggies, try cooking them in low (or no) salt chicken broth. Very low cal and, according to our two, delicious. Here is Quigley with a big kale stem from our garden and another with more stolen kale.
