Hello :) new Bulldog owner here.

Hi everyone :)

I've been on here for a while now learning all I can about these beautiful dogs before I take the Bulldog plunge. Well I have a EB now :). I rescued him a week ago and he is a love bug to the fullest. I was told he was two but the vet said more around 18 months old is his age. He is already trained for the most part in the basics, sit, down, stay etc... But I do have a problem with him that I need help with. I have two dachshund that he had to meet at the rescue before I could bring him home and they got on great but since yesterday he is fine with my girl but wants to attack my very old male every time he sees him. He also does this to my cat. I have tryed keeping them apart but find that hard and unfair on them both. I really need help with this. I don't want to give him up but I do fear for my old mans life. Please if anyone has any advise it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Natalie

I would contact the organization that you got him from

Honestly, if I were in this situation, I would return the dog. The safety of the older dog and your cat should be your priority.

If it is your intent to keep the Bulldog, I strongly urge you to contact a trainer to do an in-house evaluation. He/she may be able to help you with a behavior modification program. Please contact a trainer that uses positive methods. In the meantime, keep them separated. Go to the APDT.com website, they list trainers by area.

Good luck in whatever you decide.
