Costumes
Submitted by sitartzm on August 19, 2013 - 3:12pmI know it's a little early, but I want to buy before the stock runs out like it did last year on me. I am looking for Halloween costumes for the boys. Two questions: where do you guys find them? I have no problem looking for smaller ones for Bernie, but Brewer is huge and most of the costumes wont fit around his neck. Second question: how much can a dog grow in 2 months. Brewer is done growing so I am not worried about him, but Bernie is just 4 months old. He is still tiny (20Lbs) but I am afraid he might hit a growth spurt and not fit in his costume. But if I go the next size up I am afraid he wont grow. Any suggestions guys?

Mmm that's a tough one.
The larger sizes are hard to find, the biggest around here is usually L or XL. It's a little hard with the bullies also because they may be XL around the chest but that may be too long.
My doggies fit the costumes (you can see in my profile pic), but my last dog got too large and I started using human costumes (just the tops, or fairy wings, boa, etc.).
Maybe a seller on Etsy could make something?

What is the size range for Bernie's costume? I'd expect some growth, maybe something that goes up to 30lbs?

Everything for Bernies size is also based off of him in inches. His neck right now is 13, chest is 21, and length is 15. so he can fit in a medium now, but he is half the size he is supposed to be right now since he is a runt. that's why I do not know if is should get the large for the future because the large is huge.
I buy human kids costumes for the bullie.
She was so cute as the lion king.
I also buy children's clothes, and, I've had great luck
with a site called baxterboo.....their XL fits Sophie (she weighs 50 pounds and has a 38 inch chest, which is the most important measurement in clothing).
Today, I JUST found a CUTE costume for her AND Meaty at PetSmart...could NOT believe they even had XXL's for Meaty!!

I buy kids clothes.
My girl wear a size 10 to 12 in little girls. I do have to do some sewing. If you sew you can turn anything anything into dog clothes.
