Can diet create hot spots?

Fatboy just got his first hot spot.  Is been about 6 weeks he's been on this brand of food we've been giving him.  On top of the other issues he's been having, I'm positive it's his food that's causing the problems.

definitely be caused by food. My sisters springer could not tolerate lamb, he got hotspots from any lamb protein based food.

if you bathe him, be sure to get all the shampoo rinsed off, that can cause a hot spot as well as the food.
