Breathing Question

Our little friend will celebrate his eleventh week birthday this Sunday. He is coming along great! The switch from the Royal Canin to Nature's Promise was the best thing we ever did. I have a second question though.

This is my fourth Bulldog and I realize they are not the best breathers. Having that said, apparently, over the last week, Jake has developed a breathing issue that sounds almost like congestion. It is not all the time, but he coughs at times when we hear the noise.

I am hoping we didn't cause him any trauma by having a collar on him. When he walks on the leash (which is going excellent), there was one time last week when he ran after a leaf and the collar tightened up on him. The collar in no, way, shape or form is a choke collar.

He is bit small for a harness. Also, he had his second vet appointment this week. He did fine. The vet said he looked outstanding, but this breathing issue started to be more frequent when we left the vet. Can this be kennel cough from being at the vet?

Thanks again for all the help. Still trying to figure out how to post a photo of him. My Icon photo is my last guy, Xavier, who gave us nearly twelve years of happiness, love and family connections.

Yes it sure can be.

Especially if he isn't fully vaccinated yet, he could easily pick it up. I would talk to your vet and get a round of antibiotics if needed.

Thanks

Thanks so much. He is on Zithromiacin and is showing signs of improvement. He is very sleepy though with the medication. I have been doing some research. He may have gotten this on his plane ride from LA. The little guy is starting to get a bit more brave here!
