Shorter - best help for chronic bloating?

Other message a bit long. Likely the reason for no responses. To the point: your best advice for every day mild bloating following eating - and especially drinking water?  Tried many things (GasX, lowering bowls, raising bowls, feeding only Purina E/N food, etc) with my 12 year old bullie with little success.  What works for you?

My bully has a similar issue

My bully is having a similar issue... But when it happens it is after a walk ( when she is very excited!), or when she plays with some specific toys that are causing her to swallow a lot of air (thinking about her gigantic kong...). She then starts drooling like crazy, and burps a bit. It last hours and I can see she is not feeling that well. The drooling Won't stop until she falls asleep. I saw 3 different vets in that regard an none were able to clearly identify what is the issue. One gave her famotidine, the other sulcrate, thinking that maybe she was having some kind on stomach ache ( acid burns?). Try gas-x as well without sucess.. Maybe i did not gave her enough. This has been going on for at least 2 years now. I'm desparate to find something that will releive her. Always so worry because of everything i'm reading and the dangers in dogs of bloating.

Wow Rose.  I feel like I

Wow Rose.  I feel like I could've typed your message myself.  In addition to meal and drink time, my bully also bloats up a bit after walking and chewing his toys. In fact, he did it just tonight after we got back from a walk.  He's gone down some, but still has a little way to go.  He has this stuffed pacifier thing that he loves to chew on at bedtime.  But the intake of air ALWAYS causes him to "plump up" as I like to call it.  I don't like to use the word "bloat" because it terrifies me too.  Like you, I've tried so many different things and nothing seems to work completely.  His Vet has done numerous tests down through the years and has never found anything serious.  They defaulted to probably colitis and maybe a touch of IBS. It's very troubling and frustrating.  But it actually helps to read that I'm not alone with this.  So thanks for your response!  I'm trying Pepcid for the first time with him.  Along with his usual GasX.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Are you sure it's Bloat

Mine got Bloat and almost die when she was a year and half. Bloat can kill in the matter of hours. coast me a fortune and I was so scaed she was going to die. Reason she could not eat the dogfood I was feeding her. Bowl on the floor. Which is not now. and her fast eating. I was stupid back then. but after what I did to my new baby. I promise I told her I would never has this happen to her again. Bloat is very scary and it's just doesnt go away. Sorry Vet Bill. Mine was throwing up over the new food I was giving her. she couldn't hold anything down at the time. She had to much Gas in her stomach. Be care and find out what is causing this problem. I hope Shorter is doing better.
