Gracie's head shaking

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this with their bulldogs.  I went online and read that it does happen to bulldogs and she is about the correct age.  So we have noticed that after she wakes up she will put her head up and her head starts shaking. it only lasts about a minute and then she is fine.  But now we have noticed it happening more.

Has anyone ever dealt with anything like this??  Should I bring her to the vet to get checked out?  Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

There's a possibility that...

It's low blood sugar. Try giving her a spoonful of Karo syrup or something sugary and see if it helps.

i had this happen with vern

i had this happen with vern post neuter and nare surgeries - the vet said it can be low blood sugar like Kathie said or it can be low blood calcium.  If the karo doesn't work, try giving a tums......Vern liked the fruity flavored ones :)  Good luck!

thanks for the advice!

I hope it works!

Sophie had head shakes several times.

I was able to resolve the issue with a food change. I believe it is caused by low sugar. I have given Sophie a tablespoon of Karo, or a tablespoon of Peanut Butter, or ice cream...anything with sugar in it. It stops the head shakes almost immediately.

Yes Fatboy has these from time to time. When I notice that a

head shake is about to start, I spoon feed him a bit of honey.  It usually prevents the shakes from starting.  I can't remember where I read this and don't know what it is about the honey, but it's worked so far.
