Gagging
Submitted by Bb1schoff on September 17, 2015 - 11:42pmSorry for the many posts. We brought home our girl tonight and on the way got her 8 week vacs. Every once in a while she coughs as though something is stuck in her throat and a few times she has coughed out phlem. This has happened about a dozen times in the last five hours. At the vet, we found out that her littermate was at the same vet this morning (I know - what are the chances) and had an upper respiratory infection. The littermate left the litter last Sunday and our little one was left with just one other for the rest of the week. The vet said she sounded good today at the appointment and her lungs were clear. Should I be concerned?
Any time a young puppy is gagging and coughing is a concern
I would be very vigilant and keep a close eye on her. If a littermate has a respiratory issue, your pup does, too. I would head to the vet first thing this morning and get her checked out again.
