Blood in stool
Submitted by gertiesmom on February 17, 2011 - 2:39amAfter our evening walk tonight I noticed a blood smear on Gerties so I went and checked her poop and sure enough there was blood in it. She is 8 eyars old and this is the first time this has happenned - what would cause this? I bagged the poop to bring to the vet tomorrow but i am nervous and hoping someone might have an idea of what caused this.

I hope everything is ok. My dog had that problem but it was food related. Gertie will be in my prayers.

If she doesn't have diarrhea...
it could just be a fissure that opened up. I would see the vet, but it's probably nothing serious. Let us know what they say.
