Auto Immune disease HELP

Life has been busy and its been far too long since ive been here but now i despratley need some help.
My 7 year old bulldog Ollie was diagnosed with Pemphigus foliaceus. Its a auto immune disease in which his imunne system attacks his skin causing them to separate. Has anyone dealt with this aweful thing before?
This dog is my best friend and goes to work and my daughters daycare with me, I cant loose him! But the treatments are making his liver toxic and hes not improving, the medicine he just started will cost 250 a month. Does anyone have any suggestions?
