Acrochordonus Plaques
Submitted by lauriemcf on December 19, 2012 - 5:36pmWe had our Bulldog, Lily, tested for Cushings and other things today - trying to figure out what is the cause of her multiple break-outs of multiple hotspots. The test results are not yet back but our vet did some additional research and thinks it's possible that she has Acrochordonus Plaques -- has anyone heard of this / had experience with them. Any information greatly appreciated!

Sorry, I have not heard of the condition your vet suspects. I'm too am curious if anyone has any experience with it.

Please check this link. It appears the common term for the above diagnosis is "skin tags". Our Bubba has one on his flank and it has never been a bother. Of course, I had to have our vet check it out when I first noticed it. I am definitely not sure about skin tags with dogs, but definitely sure with humans they are benign, somewhat unattractive and easily removed.

Chester had about 20 of these on his neck when he was about a year old. Our vet shaved his neck, sedated him and shaved them all off. He has had maybe 2 reappear but they are really small and we've just left them alone. Didn't know the technical term for them.
Ear infection and strange noises
Our girl has bilateral ear infections. When I medicate her ears, she makes a weird howling sound and salivates. I have to rub the medication into her ear. She doesn't pull away or act like I'm hurting her. She's had an ear infection in the past with the same treatment program as this time. She never made a noise or salivated during the care. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with their bully?
