any ideas???

if it isn't raised, I agree with the others..h

It looked raised, but after reading your other posts, you said it is not. I agree with others if it isn't raised.

maybe not hot spot...

Belle had two round raised smooth spots that look just like that on her nose roll. They were not hot spots. Vet put her on antibiotics (cephalexin 500mg 2x a day) for 3 weeks. One went away and the other one is finally scabbing over.

At first I thought Belle was stung by a bee or bit by some kind of bug. The bumps kept crusting over with yellow puss and then she would rub them and the crust would come off. They didn't bleed or ever look like open sores.

I thought it was staph or a bug bite.

That is DEFINITELY a hot spot...

I'm a bit of an expert on these as my Baldrick has had more than his share of them. One was so bad that he now has a scar nearly 3" long behind his right ear.

What works wonders for him nowadays - and Helens advice is sound if you dont get the vets involved - is to buy some Baytril 68mg and some Prednisone through PETMEDS. They will need to get in touch with your vet first though.

Knocks it out in just a few days.

If you are able to get the meds through PETMEDS, the dosage is 2 Baytril a day (12 hr intervals) and 1/2 a prednisone each day.

Good luck!
Colin

Dab it with Listerine let dry then dust with Gold Bond Medicated

If it does not look better within a few days then take him to the vet.

I agree, it looks like a hot spot...

that being said... and because it is on a flat part of his cheek, how about some Panalog... I would have a vet look at it if it doesn't clear up soon. 10 days is a long time for a hot spot, isn't it?

It sounds & looks like a hot spot

dab with yellow listerine and then dust with gold bond powder or I have a recipe I mix and put in a spray bottle: equal parts of water, yellow listerine & baby oil. Then spray on 3Xper day until it drys up.

Oh and it scabs up too...

but i guess he scrathes at it and it bleeds. It seems to not heal. It's been there for about 10 days. what should i put on it when it scabs up?

It's more of a bloody burn like look

not really rasied.

If it is in fqact a hot spot which it looks like then the antibi

moist which you DO NOT want with a hot spot, you want to dry it up which the Listerine and Gold Bond Powder will do.

Question for you........

Is it a raised bump or more like a hot spot from him scratching?

Poor baby :(

I would put some sort of antibiotic ointment on it like Panmycin or something like that (tetracycline). I don't know what it actually is or what caused it, but I would definitely keep it clean and do the antibiotic.

looks like a hot spot....
