How much kibble do you generally think is appropriate per feeding?

I've read that one of the leading cause of upset tummies in dogs is overfeeding. So, as an experiment, I've started to decrease the amount I feed Tuffy per feeding to see if that helps with his chronic soft stool. I noticed that going from a full cup to half a cup is helping to some degree. Also not mixing in anything is looking to be the key. Anytime I add yogurt, cottage cheese, salmon oil or eggs he gets the squirts. SO now it's smaller portions and more frequent feedings. So I'm curious to hear what y'all think is an appropriate amount to feed a growing 5 month old puppy or adult dog per feeding? I know I'm talking in generalities and different dog kibbles require different portion sizes, but I'm just looking to get an approximate. I'm also going to get a slow feeder to see if I can control the gobbling issue as well....

Thanks!

i feed about half cup w/tablespoon wet x 4 a day

my dogs have issues when their tummies are empty (they puke bile) ... i do morning , lunch, dinner, late dinner...lunch and dinner are usually bigger scoops and breakfast and late dinner are smaller portions!

i had a dog that died of bloat before i am extra careful about fast eating, big meals , and activity after feeding now...

1 cup 3 times a day

If he gets fat cut the middle feeding in half or stop it after 6 months
