Help...Pups threw up milk

Hey everyone this morning one of my babies threw up milk from his mouth and threw his nose while nursing. Did I do something wrong? Will he be okay? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Don't worry it happens all the time

just take him off wipe his nose and put him back on. I have never had a pup aspirate but often have pups where milk comes out the nose.

prob eating to fast

put your finger between the nipple and the mouth so he looses the suction and pick him up, wipe his nose a few times and have him suck on your finger, it pulls the milk out of the nostrils then put him back on momma.

Sometimes when the milk drops it will come down fast and they blow milk.

If you have a bulb syringe then you can suck the nose and mouth if needed. Its good to have them on hand if needed.

Re:

Be sure you get all the milk suctioned out of the pup's nose with a baby ear syringe. You don't want any liquid going down into the pup's lungs, that is an express route to pneumonia.
You will probably need to suction the pup's mouth too. Hold the pup close to your ear and listen carefully to its respiration. If there is ANY sign of a rattle, crackle or the pup looses its pink color, RUN it to the Vet to have it checked and started on antibiotics. Be sure you keep the pup warm on the trip.
