False pregnacy condition
Submitted by lomeli2356 on April 21, 2010 - 12:40amOur female just finished her heat and we seperated our two dogs to avoid getting any surprises ..... But now she is acting funny !!!! Not sure what is going on UGH
Just looked up false pregnancy on line and was wondering if any one else had gone through this !!!!

She actually had milk.
Yes.....
I have had it happen once. Her teets blew up as if she had milk and gained about 5-8 lbs. My vet told me this is a trait passed down by wolves. Its purpose in wolf packs was other non moms get the false pregnancy in the pack to help the actual mother with lg litters since wolves tend to have them. This would help the species survive. Don't need to do anything special for her.
