6 day old puppies

Hello everyone my babies are 6 days old today. My question is how do I know that they are getting enough milk. They are nursing every 2 1/2 hrs for about 20 mins. They are all good eaters. They are content when they are done they dont whine and sleep well. I have been weighing them but my scale is not that good so i am not sure if I am getting the weights correct. They all look like they are getting fat and peole say they look bigger. They weigh from 6 to 8 ounces. Just want to make sure I am doing every thing right. thanks for any advice

peeing and pooing

they are peeing and pooing fine. they are acting totally fine. they are eating and sleeping good they are not gurgling and not aspirating. They seem to be fine. I just want to make sure they are eating enough. Should i feed them every 3 hours or stay at 2 1/2 . what do you use to weight yours.

I take the time from when they finish..

the are on the smaller side but that does not mean it is bad. The smallest litter I have had were around 8 ounces at birth. My biggest puppy weighed 18 ounces at birth but she was a singleton :O) Are they peeing each time you feed them?

normal puppie weight

I was just wondering if they are considered a normal weight or are they on the smaller size. I have read where some of peoples babys were 15- 16 ounces at birth. Just wondering. most eat for 20 mins then there are a couple that will fall asleep after about 10 or so mins. I usually try to get them to eat some more after letting them sleep for a couple of mins. should I be feeding them every 2 hours or 3 hours right now i am feeding them every 2 1/2 hours. also it the time from when they start or when they finish thank you for the help.

I would continue to watch their weights...

are they nursing the entire 20 minutes or are they falling asleep on and off? If they are falling asleep you may want to push them to 3 hours at least for a few feedings. You should start seeing some good weight gain now. Mine usually lose the first couple of days.. the stay the same for a day or so and then begin to gain. The gain varies but some will gain an ounce or more per day depending on mom's milk.
