Bulldog of the Month - August 2015

Thank you for selecting Holly for Bulldog of the Month. What an honor! Holly came to us at the age of 8 months. She came to us at a great time, we had lost Gracie, and Griffin was lost without her. Holly loved hanging on the couch with Griffin - She is full of energy. Hopefully as time goes on we will be working with her to become a Therapy Dog. Her butt never stops wiggling and she loves everyone she meets!

Vet that knows bulldogs in Ottawa, ON for Bosco

Hi BDW - does anyone here know of any good bulldog vets in Ottawa, ON? My husband, Bosco, and I are moving from Virginia to Canada for a couple of years and Bosco will need a vet. I looked at the recommended vets on the front page and none were located near Ottawa. Bosco has had his fair share of issues - nares and elongated soft palate surgery, CCL and luxating patella surgery, allergies - so he really needs someone who knows what they are doing. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance for the assist!!

Breeders with older puppies

My husband and I lost our amazing bulldog of 11 years in June of 2014. When are now ready to get another one. We are looking for an English or Olde English. When we got our Basil, he was 8 weeks old, which wasn't a problem as I worked in a vet hospital and could bring him to work with me. We would like to get male,1 1/2 years and younger, as we need a dog who can be at home on weekdays for 6-7 hours.

This is where I could use some advice. I know that breeders sometimes have older puppies that come back due to someone not being able to care for them, or whatever reason.

Wish us luck!!!

We took Chase to his training class last night and our trainer told us that he knows a family that is about to put down their 8 1/2 year old female bulldog due to the fact that they are moving and don't want to take her with them. UNREAL. My wife and I are going to adopt her as long as she doesn't appear aggressive towards our daughter or Chase.

Please pray for us that not too much is wrong. We were already told that she has cherry eye in one eye and hasn't been to a vet in years, he isn't even sure if they ever gave her vaccinations.

Our bully Flossie has wobbled and fallen onto her side, like light headed!

Hi all, Flossie is our first Bully, and at 17 months old is very much my baby. But I worry because two months ago she just fell over onto her side and lay on the grass for a few minutes,  her breathing was quick as prior to falling she was playing quite happily with another pup, then yesterday she did it again! Very upsetting as I thought I'd lost her! I have since read about lemon juice being a remedy for this issue that bullies are prone to.  Can anyone else shed some light on this as I would really be grateful.
