Our Gunther seems a little depressed. I find it hard to tell with a bulldog. They always have their big puppydog eyes and sad faces, so I don't know if it's him or just the breed.
He has a torn ACL so he hasn't been out for a good walk in over 2 weeks. Other than that, the mornings, I feel he is sad cause we go to work. (Maybe I am the one sad FOR him). His leg hurts, and he doesn't get to play that much, and I just feel bad. Daddy plays with him on the bed every night for over an hour, and then he comes to rest with me before bedtime. It just seems like all he does is sleep, and it makes me sad. He loves car rides and I haven't even taken him in the car since we got the news of his leg.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any advice?

Re: How to tell if your bully is depressed
I dont know if he is depressed, but they do get sad when things change, I know that after both of mine had surgery and were crater rested, they seemed sadder, but after they were healed they were back to their normal bully selves, it is kind of hard to to feel sad for our babies when they are not well

We had to do the same thing
with Onslow when he tore his CCL. He was off it for 2 months. I (like you) also felt bad because I had to remove all his toys so he wasn't on the leg playing and stop the daily walks.

We found other things to do with him, the best thing for us was hide and seek. We'd hide his treats in low easy to get to places and it was fun for him to look around and find them. Ofcourse he wasn't jumping or anything but it gave him a little game and fun for his down time. I bought him tons of bully sticks to chew on to relieve his boredom and tension. They also have those little treat puzzles, that might be good for him!
Hug Gunther for me!
Hug your bulldog every day.
