Unexpected playdate
Submitted by SNACPete on November 9, 2011 - 12:08pmJack hasn't had any real playdates with other dogs yet. He's been meeting our neighbor's dogs through the fence. They have 2 brittany spaniels and a mean chihuaua. Jack has been a little afraid because all 3 bark at him and come charging the fence in excitement. Yesterday one of them found a gap in the fence and came over to investigate our yard. This was Jack's big opportunity to make a friend, but instead, the little booger wouldn't stop messing with the garden hose. The other dog is about 10 yrs old and just wandered around exploring. He did come over to my girls and let them pet him before going back home. Oh well, maybe next time. I'll try and get pictures if he comes back today.

I'm not worried about Jack getting out. He never strays more than 10 ft from me but the gap in the fence is between our yards. So even if Jack did get out, then he's just in the neighbor's yard. We've known these people for over 5 yrs and they've known our close friends for over 10 yrs. So they wouldn't do anything to Jack but love him to death.

I hope so!
These dogs are about 10 yrs old now but they used to run up and down the fence line with our other two dogs. They really are sweet dogs so I hope they aren't too old to play with Jack. They don't stay outside much either.
