good mentors
Nicole-the grandsire to your bitch and sire to your future puppies breeder is Angie & Herrell Collins-wonderful Hall of Fame Breeders-very very nice people. I'm sure they would answer any questions you have and would be great as mentors. Paula Turner owner of Tyson(Ch Trimbull Git R Done) has been in bulldogs for a few years and would be alot of help also. Stick close to them and you'll be fine. I'm also sure anyone on this board would be more than happy to help you.

Good Luck
Nicole:
I am new myself, not a breeder - just an owner/handler that's not afraid to help other newbies.
Lacy looks beautiful. I think you should keep doing what you are doing - attend shows, join your local club and keep talking to people. You will find that some breeders will help you interpret the quality of your dog vs. the standard and others will not. Also keep in mind that many breeders are also judges, which, as I understand, means that they cannot touch or comment on your dogs. I wouldn't go to a show and say "is my dog a winner?" to everyone you meet. Get to know some people over the course of time, and begin to gravitate towards people that are most helpful to you.
I think it's great that you are excited about being a bulldogger. Keep going to shows and eventually the right breeder will become your mentor, then that person can guide you from there.
Obviously years of breeding and experience increase your chance of getting a nice well balanced, conformation positive dog, but I don't think luck discriminates - maybe it will shine on Lacy.
Good Advise, Skip!
Very good advise.
Follow Skips advise.
Read all the books you can, if you can get your hands on any old Bulldoggers they are filled with great info along with past winners to study.
Get a copy of the Standard and study it!! Cant emphasize this enough.
Study pedigrees and ask breeders why they did what they did, I'll bet you will be surprised by some of the answers...
Ask the same questions to as many Bulldoggers as you can and remember common responses!
Good Luck and if I can help dont hesitate to ask!
