Gary....

First I want to say that I am glad that MiniBoo finally has a name. Flynn is a good one. Also sorry to hear about her medical issued. I have no advice for you other than what my vet has always told me that dogs should eat dog food. When you start feeding them other things that is when the health issued Adminse.

Also, just want to ask what your feeling is about Susan Boyle and he apparent emotional breakdown.

The "fluid" is saline...same as they give via IV during surgerie

Given under the skin (SQ) allows for slow absorption and really helps in cases of moderate dehydration. happy.gif In cases of more severe dehydration, it would be given IV, and perhaps with a 5% dextrose additive for energy if dog wasn't eating well.

Thanks; I just fed her about a half hour ago for the first time

. . . so the next hour or two will be a key to whether she holds it down. I also kept the water away all day except for a little bit this morning and a little bit after her supper. I'm hoping she keeps it all down. I was frantic last night. She threw up two small piles at first. I got some paper towels and picked it up, but by the time I got back to the family room, she was throwing up again. She kept repeating that. Every time I would finish cleaning up one mess and walk back in the room, she would throw up a bigger pile. I was actually amazed she didn't throw up in my car on the way to the ER vet.

She didn't poop in the house at all today, which was a good sign. But around 5 pm, she did poop out in the yard and it was still very soft. However, the only food she got tonite was some very bland prescription canned food. So hopefully that will turn things around.

Oh, you're right about the camel hump thing. That's exactly how the vet described it.

Hey Gary... just wanted you to know that

I completely agree with the others about Flynn's inverted vulva... my Rease is like this also.. I clean the pocketed vulva area with listerene and sometimes a little gold bond powdered.. she is 14 months old now and so far we have had no problems... and the shot for dehydration is actually not a shot... it is fluid that they inject under the skin that allows her body to absorb it slowly, this keeps her hydrated.. btw.. glad that baby has a name and I love it :O)

Weird, but this post disappeared, so here it is . . .

I think Susan Boyle will still have a very successful career, tho perhaps more so in the U.S. than in England. I'm not all that surprised about the breakdown, if that is what happened. She endured a pretty nasty backlash, and the paparazzi in England are just as bad if not worse than over here. For a small town person who supposedly had some kind of developmental issues as a child (she suffered oxygen deprivation at birth), I can't say I'm surprised.
