About dog food/ treats beng recalled......

Does anyone know if the following treats have been recalled....

Pedigree breath busters
Bestro's Rawhide sticks (bought from Kmart but fond out thy are made in China)
Canine Carry outs Bac'n bites or grillers (Made by Del Monte-they recalled the Jerkey Treats only)
Any kind of dog biscuits

I am so confused about all of this. I am now only feeding the dry science diet light. I boil chicken or ground meat to put on top of it. We were feeding the alpo cuts that were recalled on top of the SD. I am now a nervous wreck about everythng!

Are you all continuing to give treats if the company recalled one item, but make no mention of product you are using?
TIA,
Ashley

FDA site...

Ashley....

Hey there!

Best advice is to check the FDA website daily...here's the link...

http://www.fda.gov/cvm/default.html

Also, if you are concerned about a specific product, check the manufacturer's website and they should each provide a list of recalled foods or say that they are uneffected by the recalls. You can also try to check the store's website where you bought the treats...I know that places like PetSmart are updating lists of products sold at their stores that have been recalled.

As for products which are uneffected by the recall, but made by a company who has been....I threw away the rest of the Pupcorn I had at my house. It wasn't listed as impacted on Sunshine Mills website as recalled, but I just felt I needed to. But I still give Gus Iams puppy food (dry) and Diesel still gets the Iams adult food (dry)....I do know that there are a GROWING number of people starting to "home made" feed their 4 leggers....just make sure you are using recipes from reputable sources so you know that you are providing all the right combinations of fats/vitamins/protein/etc....

Best of luck!
