Zapper went to the vet today for his follow-up

the Adequan wasn't helping any so we're back on Rimadyl now. We're going to re-check his kidney/liver function in 30 days to see if it's having any adverse effects.

There were 2 other bullies there today and everyone was just oggling over them and Zap LOL

Hey Dave, why is Zapper taking pain meds?

We have given Rimadyl to dogs with great results and no side effects. Depending on why he is taking pain meds, you may want to ask the vet about Tramadol.

Hugs to the little man

Tramadol has worked miracles for Chester...

We give it to him when he's having back problems or leg problems and it really helps him feel better.  I'm thinking about taking some myself, too many yoga classes last week.

Kathy, I do a little Yoga at home for my neck/upper back

nothing much, just from a video I saw on YouTube.  Maybe I can get Zapper in some yoga classes :)

Lynn, he has arthritis/bone spurs in his front legs

we have used Tramadol and Rimadyl both in the past with good results but his arthritis has gotten really bad. He has a hard time walking now so daddy carries him up and down the steps. He's not incapacitated but those little legs just don't move like they used to.

Zap has always had a limp since I got him at 1 year old but just recently has it gotten this bad.

Thanks for asking :)

I think Adequan is about the best thing for arthritis

I believe it is supposed to help slow the progression of the arthritis.

Breaks my heart to see my buddies in pain.

Please give the little man a hug from me.

Laser Therapy

My vet is recommending laser therapy now for arthritis. He said it is helping dogs that don't have relief from Rimadyl or Adequan. I may check into having some treatments done on MacKenzie in a few months. It is rather expensive, anywhere from $35-$45 per treatment, they offer a buy 5 or 7 and get 2 or 3 treatments free.

If you would, let me know how that goes..

thx,
