We weren't planning on getting Margie only three weeks or so after Maybull passed but we did and although no dog would ever replace Maybull, we are so glad to have Margie – and now Quigley. But, everyone is different. Bostons are great dogs, too.

and I know Zapper will lead you to find another Dog. Zapper wants to see his Daddy Happy. He is still right beside you and will always be. I know you miss him. I don't think when Loulou pass she would won't be to be Bulldog less or what ever Breed I choose. She would want me to be happy. with me it will only an English Bulldog. My Daughter ex boy friend had a Boston Terrier I love that little guy. He passed way to soon. They didn"t take care of him. I baby sit him alot back then also I took the little the little to the Vet to make sure everything was o.k. When they broke up I could not do anything for him. Boston was a sweet little guy. after a year I hear he has passed. broke my heart but he was not mine and I could not do anything for him. But Zapper would want his Daddy Happy. I do hope you get another English Bulldog. But Zapper will lead to the dog he wants, That will make his Father Happy. We all your boy Zapper and will never be forgotten. Not by me. I still remember your fishing trips with Zapper and how happy he look in the boat. I wish you would post those days again. Zapper will be hard to replace. He was one of a kind and I love him. what ever you choose Zapper will let you know. I'm so sorry he is not with us anymore.

And getting another pup would certainly cheer you up. Of course there will never be another Zapper, but you KNOW that another pup or adult dog will warm you heart and make you fall in love again:-) Of course, I am partial to Bullies, but any dog that loves you is a great dog:-)

For what its worth, we went through the same mental tug of war.  We lost Xavier in June and swore to never get another dog.  In August, our house was way too quiet and empty.  Jake has been here about five weeks and he makes us laugh at his antics and share several warm memories of our buddy, Xavier.  Best of luck and again, sorry for your loss of Zapper.  Here is a photo of Jake.

I too know the feeling I just lost my Spencer on 10/8/2014 and miss him so much. I will get another but it will take time. Hope you find a great dog to love again and Bostons are great dog too!
