Probably never will but if I ever decide to for fun what things would prevent that? Like what kinds of operations and faults with the dogs and stuff like that disqualify you?

I would encourage you to read the Bulldog Breed Standard on the http://www.akc.org// and also the Breed Illustration on http://www.bulldogclubofamerica.org/ website. Once you have read these, then reread several more time...and several more time. Really you can not reread the standard too many times.
The only actual DQ is a liver/dudley nose.
The parts of the breed features are broken down and given points, totaling 100 points. Judges typically judge each dogs virtues and hopefully are not fault judging. So the dog with the best virtues, breed type, balance, movement, etc. should be the judges top pick.
When you have a chance go to a show and watch, if you have a chance to go to a specialty show...that is even better. Our specialty show usually has about 80-90 entries. A specialty show is breed specific, so bulldog only.

Any surgery that alters the appearance. Technically if a cherry eye is repaired or entropian they aren't supposed to be shown (but I know many are). Fixing a tail in any way or ears. Some idiot put braces on his poodle's teeth--he was DQ'd. The Standard also only describes what a Bulldog should look like and although that is what the jdges are supposed to base their choices on, it is not necessarily what happens. For example when I started showing there was a top winning bitch--I think she retired with 100 specialty Best in Shows. Today I wonder if she would even place--she was very long in body for today's tastes. Toplines today are also more level. I think in many cases if you could place the outline of the desireable Bulldog as illustrated in the Standard, the outline of the dogs winning today would not match it.
