I love that we have SO many new people on BDW! Since tehre are a bunch of us from everywhere, how's about we tell a little about ourselves, where we live, what we do...but NO soliciting either business or advice from anyone who is a professional anything!!!!!!
And PICTURES!!! Family style, not adult style!!!
I will start! I am Amy, married to my hubby Paul for 24 years, have 2 adult daughters and 4 grandkids (two from each daughter), and we live about 70 miles west of Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. We own an industrial construction outfit that works on large food storage facilities nation wide.
I have a little Bully babe named Sophia who is a little over 7 years old. I also have a German Shepard girl named Mille, of undetermined (but old) age, a three legged Great Pyrenees boy named William Wallace that is 2, and a one year old Catahoula Cur girl named Talley. We own a large horse ranch and raise/train/ride our own horses. I also do a LOT of all breed horse rescue with a bent toward Thoroughbred mares off the track. Right now I have 17 horses and a foal due any minute (latest baby we have ever had. Mare is a year out from breeding), making a total of 18, plus our younger daughter just bought a filly so now we technically have 19 here). We do a little bit of everything, from cutting and reining to Western Pleasure, hunter/jumper, dressage, racing, and trail riding.
We also have a Brangus bull named Norman. Long story, but he is a sweetie boy that I have babied around with since he was 2 months old, and he thinks he is either a horse, donkey, or dog depending on what his mood is:-) He comes when called, loves to be brushed and fly sprayed, and eats when everyone else eats every morning and evening (from a bucket, usually standing in my driveway but sometimes down at the corrals with the horses). Heaven help us if he ever figures out he is bigger than we are! So far he hasn't figured that out...but I imagine with spring around the corner and, um, as yet un-bred cows across the road, he will figure some things out sooner or later:-) Then we will have some issues, but until then he is my baby boy.
Ok, pics. First is Sophie...with Talley
Talley. Um, who tore up the pad and then fell asleep on it? Hmmm.
My Thoroughbred mare "Lea's Crown", with her month old filly "Crown of Eiselee", a Friesian/TB cross. That is me walking Lea, our younger daughter following with Millie the Shep girl close by.
My newest grand daughter, Tessa. She is 5 weeks old now.
Our older grand kids. Oldest is Aubrey, her little brother Austin, and our darling young girl, Tessa's big sister, Audrey.
Merry, Oliver (spotted) and baby Thomas, Donkey family, in October last fall.
Norman and I a couple months ago. He has grown substantially since then, but this is the most recent pic I have.
I will post the other horses some other time. I have to go pick up grand kids from school!
Have fun, and lets see YOUR life!
