My boy Zeus!
Submitted by GARY29 on June 6, 2014 - 9:27pmNewest addition to the family, Zeus is 8 weeks old. My 7 year old Toby is having a hard time getting used to him but hoping after a few weeks they become buds.

Zeus is just gorgeous..........and Toby reminds me of my Otis (my very first bulldog). They have very similar colorings.
Toby will come around. I got a 10 mo. old female bulldog in February and my 7 yrs old (Apollo) took almost two months to totally accept her. He ignored her (and me) for a very long time and I thought I had made a huge mistake, but now they are buds and he enjoys having her around. Zeus andToby will be buddies in no time....one day it will just happen!

They sure do! I'm having problems with my older bulldog snapping at the new pup, not sure what I can do to stop it. Every time Zeus gets close to Toby he barks and snaps at him. Any suggestions? I've never had a problem with Toby being aggresive so I'm surprised he's behaving this way.

Apollo did the same thing and it went on for over a month. Toby is just letting Zeus know his place. While it was going on, I thought I had made a huge mistake, as it is not fun to be around. I am confident Toby will come around and get used to Zeus. Apollo and Izzy still have their moments, but he just basically lets her know he has had enough for the time being. I think you will evidently see them playing and horsing around. Toby's world has been rocked and I think he will be fine.
one more thing..........
I also tried to get Apollo (the older one) distracted when Izzy started bothering him. Get the focus off of the confrontation. Walk between them, or get them involved in something else. Hang in there....I am confident it will resolve itself. They will become a pack!

They are both just beautiful.
their is that of my American Bulldog Bubba. When my Rescue Bulldog Gummybear came to live with me. they got along the three hours drive home. Once in the door. Miss Loulou became something else. They were both the same age. but Gummybear was Blind. it took a couple of weeks for them to get to know each other Loulou set her rules and GummyBear follow them. Sad to say I lost my loving when they had to take his eye out.
