Both of those are not good quality food IMHO...

try to find a good quality GRAIN FREE food, that will help with any food allergies or skin problems in the future.  There are many protein sources, we use Natural Balance Duck Potato and have used Salmon sweet potato in the past.  You can also get lamb or venison, but I would recommend starting with the duck or salmon.  Natural Balance is available at pet depots and Petco, you can also find Taste of the Wild, Wellness, and many other grain frees.  Also, try to keep whatever protein source at 24% or less, you don't want a bulldog to have too much protein.  Most of the beef based foods are too high.  She's a cutie!

I agree w/Kathy on all of this

Grain free....I'd be very wary of the barley in any dog food. Or anything that says brewers yeast is no bueno. But we try to keep the protein at under 30%. So far we know for sure our Fatboy does not tolerate beef protein well at all.

Searching for the right food is a hit or miss. We've gone through so many different trials with Fatboy. One would give him ear infections (too much protein), another would make his coat dry and he'd chew his paws (protein allergy), another would make his stool too soft...you can try researching on that dog food analysis web page.

Too bad

Penelope really seemed to like them both. Oh well I'm guessing I'll be trying one of the brands mentioned an see if I can find a brand that she likes in dry an wet. Penelope's very fussy she don't like , she don't eat!
Oh well, thanks for the feed back. I'll definitely be back with more questions in the future. lol
Thanks again Penelope&Cory

Sometimes if our guys seem to lose interest...

in their food, we will add a tablespoon of plain yogurt to it and that seems to make them hungry!  Also helps with gas.

Royal Canin

I live in Mexico and its really hard to get all these types of food such as wellnes or buffalo they are really non existant down here. Before I got my bulldog CHAPO I researched with a lot of vets and bulldog breeders only those with FCM registration and some with AKC and all of them recommended bulldog formula 24 and the 30 for puppies. Personally hes doing great, his stools are a little on the softer side but hes not going every two hours, his bowels have been regular 15mins after breakfast and 15 mins after dinner. No allergy problems, he had one hot spot but that was because he got a bath with a wrong shampoo. I havent had any problems with the food and he seems to really like it, another big thing is because of the shape its easier for them to eat and they dont make any mess at all. So I guess like my old man would say, if it isnĀ“t broke dont fix it.

Good luck with the food issue, hope I could be some sort of help.

thanks

she seems to really like the bulldog 24 an I've had no problems with allergic reaction from it so I think I'm going to keep her on it and for the wet food I'll drop the beef an stick to the lamb an chicken cause there's no barley or other stuff they shouldn't have. Most of all she really likes the food an it doesn't cause any problems for her. also your right about the shape, its much easier for Penelope to eat an the food stays in her dish.
Thanks again Penelope & Cory
