Pea protein in Natural Balance dog food Question

When I went to the pet store today to pick up a bag of Matilda’s regular dog food, Natural Balance Bison and Sweat Potato with limited ingredients, I discovered the manufacturer has changed the recipe by adding Pea Protein in place of Potato protein. What I would like to know is if any of you have been using this dog food with the new Pea Protein and if there have been any issues with your dog because of the change? And what those issue might be? For that matter, has anyone had experience with any dog food using Pea protein?

Pea Protein

I did a little research and it seems pea protein is showing up in alot of grain free dog foods.  I did see one articly that had some concern with its digestability with cats (with a minor mention of dogs).  I have fed Now Grain free kibble and it uses pea protein and I have not had any trouble with it in the past. MacKenzie is my only dog that is still on some kibble, they others are on a raw diet.

Giving it a try

Thanks for responding. I've been having so much trouble with the higher protein kibbles that I'm even thinking of trying one of the Vegan kibbles. I thought that a protein around 28 or 30 percent would give her more energy but instead she slept more and stopped asking us to play. I changed to a lower protein percentage and now will start in with the same food but adding this pea protein. Just have to see how it goes.
